Information

A PIM system provides a centralized place to collect, manage and enrich product information from multiple sources, create a product catalog and deliver it to completely different sales and e-commerce channels. It is a prerequisite for a compelling product experience and helps get products to market faster, reduce returns and increase conversions.
As quickly as customers' wishes and needs change - a powerful PIM will be able to react to them. One example is the topic of sustainability. According to a survey by Akeneo in collaboration with OpinionWay (2021), 52 percent of respondents said they would be willing to pay more for a product if brand values were communicated in the product information. Said and done: a PIM is the ideal place to store data indicating why a company or product is sustainable. Does the product have eco-seals or certificates - and what do they mean exactly? What measures is the company taking to reduce its CO2 emissions? Is there climate-friendly shipping? Gen Z in particular demands full transparency from brands when it comes to sustainability.
Another example: colors. Managing colors is a complex and important part of product information management that is a struggle for companies of all sizes. High quality images may present what a product looks like to consumers, but it's not enough. To optimize website filters, SEO, internal operations, and the tastes of discerning consumers who expect an exceptional product experience, color must be correct and contextualized across languages and business applications.
