The national and international advertising industry reacted with complaints and outrage to Apple's decision to make tracking on Apple devices more difficult with the version of iOS released in the spring. The software company from Cupertino openly advertises with this feature. However, many end users do not realize that data is also the price for a largely free Internet. So what is the price? Will we have to pay more for certain services on the web in the future? What are the implications of such data protection efforts for consumers? In this panel, we go in search of traces: How could it have gotten so far that tracking and data collection has no lobby? Wouldn't there be an ethically acceptable way out?
